Hello again and welcome to Kaptain Kenny’s newest ‘Italian’ instalment of the coastal towns: Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure.

This was one of the first of many pitstops we had on our road trip through Italy.

Portofino is a colourful and seemingly wealthy little town in Italy. It’s filled with small boutiques selling yacht clothing and its locals wear pastel linen with Ray Ban sunglasses.

Admittedly we didn’t spend much longer here than a half day, as we were driving around, however I think coming back here for 2 full days would be quite adequate if you are thinking of it.

As we didn’t want to stay directly in Portofino, we booked an Airbnb atop a mountain near Camogli, a neighbouring town. (Photos of that soon to follow!)

All in all, this was a very nice little drive to do. If you aren’t a confident driver, I would perhaps suggest asking someone else to take over as these Italian roads are often gut wrenching at best.
