City Escapes Europe Poland

Photos of Gdansk; Poland at Night

“Dzien dobry” and welcome to a new Polish instalment of Kaptain Kenny. This time we’re taking you to the cute harbour-side Polish town of Gdansk.

There will be many upcoming Gdansk posts you can expect including where to eat (some of the best food I’ve had in Europe), Gdansk’s best coffee shop & some information on seeing Gdansk by foot.

This post will be short & sweet as there’s a lot more to come. I’d like to show you the first pictures I took, which happened to be at night. What a dream it was walking around a new city and a new country at night! I wouldn’t do this as a solo female in many cities, but Gdansk felt safe and small.

If you’re interested in the history of Gdansk and why it’s called Danzig in German, click this link for some information: http://www.inyourpocket.com/gdansk/Gdansk-History

As usual, if you’ve got any comments or questions, don’t hesitate to leave us a message! Tell us, have you been to Gdansk? If you haven’t yet, which other Polish cities have you seen? I was so pleasantly surprised by how much I adored Gdansk 🙂

Town Hall is where our walking tour started during the day. (It was a paid tour so if you’re looking for that, go to the information centre.)

Great photos 🙂 Gdańsk is a really good place to visit. If we get hungry, we can visit there Szafarnia 10- restaurant with an amazing atmosphere and great menu. There are live lobsters, fine Baltic fish and venison. Besides, we can linsten to good music during the frequent concerts.
