Greetings Kaptain Kenny readers,
Today we present to you: “Meeru Island Resort” in the Maldives on Meerufenfushi Island.
Location: Meeru Island, surrounded by a beautiful lagoon and long stretches of white, sandy beach, is the only Resort on the island of Meerufenfushi, North Male’ Atoll in the Republic of Maldives. (Wikipedia)
As you know, we’re both incredibly in love with the Maldives and each resort has its own charm. What we especially loved about this island was its crystal clear water and fine, white sand. Out of the three Maldivian trips we’ve had, this resort was certainly the lowest in price. It caters to a larger and more diverse clientele as opposed to other resorts so you will be sure to run into more people but that certainly doesn’t mean it’s too busy.
We were lucky to have been given a water villa for our stay which was quite a nice experience. As a water lover, it’s great to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean below you.
The activities offered on this island were really enjoyable and in contrast to other resorts, much cheaper. This is where we tried diving for the first time and we also had some lovely island hopping adventures to explore other reefs.
As usual, I’ll let the pictures tell the story. If you have any questions or comments please get in touch! I read all of your mail 🙂

Ciao for now.

Cover photo for a reason. It’s stunning!

Hammock relaxing.

It was lovely to stay in a water villa.

A boat day trip proved to be a good investment. We went to two nearby islands for a privately cooked lunch and a snorkel.

This is where they took us for our private lunch!

My classic ‘holiday’ pose. Strictly for beaches.

Those colours!

Lucky lunch destination.

Island number two for a local house reef snorkel.

Insane water temp: 29 degrees!

We came here for a local house reef snorkel.

Para-para-paradise!

The Maldives is my favourite country for a reason.

Peace and quiet!

Relaxation time.

Back to Meeru Island Resort.

Oh – em – gee

Breathtaking.

Beach bar.

Grab a kayak and go paddling.

This island is quite large and caters for large numbers but we still had a fantastic time and felt like it was quiet enough for us.

Not sure why you’d want to stay there. You are surrounded by water and have to order a boat every time!

Sun going down.

October 3, 2017 at 3:13 pmI LOVE LOVE LOVE this post! When I was looking through and saw the word Maldives I about died! It is the ONLY place on my bucket list that no matter what, I will make happen in my life. I have seen pictures and posts about it and so being able to read about and see REAL pictures someone “real” took is amazing. Don’t mind me, I’ll just be over here reading this post again and living vicariously through you frolicking on the beach! 💜

October 3, 2017 at 3:15 pmDanielle, you’ve just about made my day! I really hope that you make it there one day – it’s a place which has to be seen to be believed. Where are you currently based? From certain locations is quite inexpensive to fly to the Maldives <3
