Day trip from Galway to Kylemore Abbey – Connemara: Ireland

/ / C O N N E M A R A / /

A regal visit to the Kylemore Abbey.

Connemara region, County Galway.

Another natural spot with clean, crisp air.

Kylemore Castle was built as a private home for the family of Mitchell Henry, a wealthy doctor from London whose family was involved in textile manufacturing in Manchester, England. He moved to Ireland when he and his wife Margaret purchased the land around the Abbey. He became a politician, becoming an MP for County Galway from 1871 to 1885.”

    1. Hey Cécile! It’s such a beautiful place, isn’t it? We didn’t do a lot of hiking as we had a few destinations in the day but I told my brother when we have more time one day, that this is where I want to go hiking 🙂 We were based in Galway city too. Where did you go? Did you find the Irish people really friendly? P&B
